About

Are you tired of all of the strict, restrictive, overwhelming and unhelpful nutrition information all around you? I was too, even as I was going through my undergraduate and masters programs for dietetics I struggled with a lot of the information I was learning. We shouldn't all be expected to fit into these "perfect" medical boxes because we are all different and wonderful in so many ways. I started my career as a care counselor in a residential eating disorder facility and this is where I fell in love with nutrition. Surrounded by humans who were learning how to trust their bodies and going through so many hard things but knowing there were better things ahead inspired me.

Nutrition should not be shameful and you should not have to think about food as much as the world we live in tries to tell you we should. This is why I decided very early on I wanted to have a more inclusive approach to nutrition. My values align with intuitive eating and Health At Every Size (HAES) - I like working from an "all-foods-fit" approach to nutrition. Food should be enjoyed and as your dietitian my goal is to help you spend more time thinking about enjoying food and feeling good in your body than telling you what you shouldn't have. Because, lets get real - we all know that doesn't work anyway! For those of you who are just trying to feel neutral about food and our bodies- I am here for that, too. Everyone is starting at a different place and has different goals. My job is to help you get where you want to be, this is not about me- its all about you!

What it's like working with me

Your session with me: Lets keep it real, we are here to help you learn more about your body, nutrition and health but you're not attending a seminar. I love sharing my knowledge on nutrition but when the time is right. You lead the way and tell me what you need then I am here to answer your questions to make you feel better when the session is over, not more confused!

My energy: I like to keep thing fun and light, but I also hold you accountable for moving toward your goals. I am not scared of challenging thoughts or behaviors that are keeping you from getting where you want to go.

Outside of the office: I have 4 kids -3 with 4 legs and lots of hair and one with 2 legs :)! I love spending time outdoors with my family and we take trips whenever we are able to explore new and beautiful things.

Fun/meaningful fact: I was a college athlete and enjoy moving my body in ways that make me happy now instead of competitively. Being a plant mom is a hobby of mine- my house is full of them!
